Project: Shepparton Law Court

Who doesn't love a good throwback project?!

The external facade of Shepparton Law Courts is, to date, one of the largest precision cut projects we've undertaken, and the largest external facade project in Tint Design history.

The sheer scale of this project was not the only admirable aspect, when broken down the coordination that it required was a feat in itself and with the unexpected delay on glass delivery (thanks to the frustratingly unpredictable nature of the weather at sea) the last minute spanner in the works meant that the original plan of installing the panels in sequence and by level changed to, install whichever panel comes out of the container first - such a nightmare!

Not to worry though, our project coordinator and installer didn't miss a beat and as all the panels were meticulously labeled and registered the process of locating the exact panel that had been prepared for each unique window pane was efficiently straight forward.

To say that the project didn't have its challenges would be a lie, you can't commit to something of this scale and not expect the whole job to turn on its head at some point. That is why we assess the risks and put in contingencies wherever we can to ensure that no matter the detour we have a plan to enable us to get back on course as soon as is humanly possible.

We couldn't be prouder of the end result of this project and for what may seem like an insignificant detail on such a grand building, we can assure you that it was no minor feat to get it there and we commend our staff for their exceptional teamwork and seamless communication.

New design for April

Nature has been an inspiration for design for as long as design has been a concept, and our latest inspiration looks somewhat like a geometric ‘Fern’ that could add a new dimension to your office fit out.

Depending on your space and current furnishings the stark lineal approach to this pattern could offer a really bold contrast while at the same time remain in line with your company style and focus.

Wall to glass graphics

GW_Geometric-01.jpg

To celebrate this months new design release, we thought we would show you an alternative way to create a impressive look within your office.

The “Custom Geometric” design is a combination of striped, solid and transparent shapes that can be manipulated to fit to any space. In this example it seamlessly flows from the wall through to glass and creates an impressive statement. Taking this approach through your fitout can potentially bring a room together and create a space that is visibly pleasing and leaves an impression on both clients and employees. This design is one of many of our designs that can be executed to flow from wall to glass without being too busy.

Geosmog - A TD design at work!

Geosmog-01.jpg

Geosmog is a unique design that can be found among our ever-growing list of geometric patterns within our Tint Design - Design Range Catalogue.

Used in this context, as a Privacy Band throughout a small office space, the alternating opacity within the design allows for privacy without completely blocking the view between spaces. A solid frost band can, in some spaces, close off an area like a solid wall which is great if that’s what you need but can be confining if your office space isn’t very big.

When precision is key

St Vincents--01.jpg

Here is a great example of our precision cutting service on an external facade for St Vincent’s Hospital in Werribee!

In cutting out both the positive and negative space within the design you can see that the effect is both eye catching and practical as the panels on the ground level allow for additional privacy where it’s needed.

A similar technique was used on the Shepparton Law Courts facade which was a series of precision cut rectangles that by alternating the width of the rectangle created an impressive gradient effect.

Gliding through Summer!

Gliding-01.jpg

With Summer coming to a end and Autumn around the corner, we thought we would celebrate the end of season with a new design.

We’ve been noticing natural and light graphics are a growing trend for interior fitouts, with the inspiration of the outdoors coming into working environments to encourage productivity and employee satisfaction. This was the inspiration behind our new addition to the design range called ‘Glide’. Digitally printing white onto frost brings out the tiny details that make this design so unique and lifelike.

Be sure to check out our Pinterest page, we are constantly uploading new designs on there every month with the hope it gives you some inspiration for your next project!

Privacy meets elegance

Updated.jpg

Squid® is a unique product, the likes of which have not really been seen before in the world of flat glass tinting. Some may argue that is has similar properties to various other options on the market however as a woven fabric the softness and elegance of the finish is second to none.

Designed specifically to provide a level of privacy that acts to screen instead of block is one of the aspects of the film that we love the most. In the same way that one-way vision film works, Squid® can also act as an almost complete block-out film when the light source is greater on the opposite side of the glass to the view you wish to mask. For example, in the image above you can clearly see the occupants of the cafe behind the soft layer of Squid® on the glass, that is because it is evening and the light inside the building is greater that the light outside.

For both commercial and residential applications we can see endless possibilities for his product!
