Frost Film

An impressive Cityscape at CoInvest by Cassie Blomquist

Frosted Film is one of Tint Design’s most popular base films for maintaining natural light while ensuring privacy within an office space. In this instance, CoInvest took advantage of the film to create a visually appealing custom graphic of Melbourne for their city center office.

By creating ‘wow factor’ when you enter a reception area a graphic like this will draw people's attention and provide an immediate conversation starter, it’s also a great backdrop for team photos that you can share to social media that will always have your logo or branding conveniently placed in the background.

Think of it like a permanent yet artistic media wall!

a ‘wheely’ great effect! by Cassie Blomquist

The Coach Ringwood created this eye-catching design for the glass dividers that separate the smoker’s and outdoor sitting areas.

By using Tint Design’s Precision Cutting service a number of ‘coach wheels’ scaled at different sizes, were cut out of frost film resulting in an eye-catching look to the outdoor area with maximum decorative impact.

The simplicity of precision cutting out of film can have a striking effect and Tint Design offer a large range of films that can be for used for any precision cut projects. Precision cut designs can be installed on a variety of surfaces such as plaster walls and glass. Combined with our Vision Effex digital printing service you can have a great feature for any decorative solution.

The large variety of applications that precision cut can be used for results in a design that succeeds in any fitout, to learn more about our precision cut service click here.

Tint Design at work! by Cassie Blomquist

At a recent install for We Make Online Videos our client had a bit of fun documenting the installation process and we think it’s a great showcase of some of the products and services we can offer your fitout.

The install included two digitally printed Acoustic walls, a precision cut Digital Print wall graphic, digitally printed logos on frost for their entry doors, and digitally printed graphics on optically clear film to create a subtle Privacy Band. It’s great to see our expert staff at work installing different finishes to a space that are as practical as they are decorative. The acoustic panels, for example, were chosen not only as a soft decorative finish but to combat an acoustic challenge the client had between two of their office spaces.

Along with our resent website upgrade we also updated our Design Range that since its launch has had a really positive response from our clients. The range now includes new designs for film and wall, privacy bands and warning decals presented as a fully downloadable Design Range Catalogue which presents each option in different colours, scales and substrates. The new range has already inspired some of our clients who have used our designs and tailored them to their project with fantastic results.

The photos above reveal two recent projects we installed using our ‘Circuitry’ design.  Both for universities in Melbourne, Deakin and RMIT chose to present the design in different ways to satisfy their requirements. Using our Vision Effex services, for the Deakin project, the design was digitally printed onto frost film and installed as a privacy band. For the RMIT project however, we digitally printed the graphic onto wall vinyl which was installed in a stairwell. Both applications utilised our design options to inject a creative element to an otherwise standard requirement.

As our Design Range Catalogue shows, each option can be manipulated in a variety of ways. By working with our team at Tint Design, we can tailor any design to fit your brief and make it unique to your fitout. This is not only limited to the design itself but also the media on which it is printed, meaning that we can print the design onto film for glass, vinyl or wall paper for walls and even acoustic panelling. There are so many ways to be creative with our designs and services to ensure your project stands out from the rest.

Tint Design would be more than happy to provide a shop drawing or printed samples to help you visualise how our designs can take aspects of your fitout to the next level – just give us a call or send us an e-mail!

Telstra canopy gets a touch of frost! by Liana Slussareff

For something a little different than our usual film installations, we recently installed film to the underside of a glass canopy outside of the Telstra Discovery Store in Melbourne’s CBD.

The canopy, project managed by Harris HMC Interiors, is a feature on the busy city corner of Burke and Swanston Streets but as such, came with many installation challenges which required a great deal of preplanning with both the builder and the glazier.

Architects Geyer, specified a 3M Fasara decorative film with a dot pattern to be installed to the underside of the four meter long glass panels. Given the canopy’s location, the large film panels were required to be installed at night using scissor lifts for access which was a challenging installation but in the end a successful one.

This canopy is not Tint Design’s first and we suspect the trend will continue as it displays yet another example of where film can be a great feature and decorative solution to any glass panel.

Stonnington Brightens up their Precinct by Liana Slussareff

Stage 1 of the Stonnington Civic Precinct Project was one with an impressive outcome. The project, run by Harris HMC Interiors, included the collaboration between Tint Design and William Ross Architects to create design solutions that would meet the client’s requirements.

The brief for the atrium was to obscure visibility to the spandrel panels while achieving a visually appealing and luminous space. In order to achieve this, coloured frost and white translucent film panels were installed strategically across the atrium resulting in an effect that has great decorative impact while letting an aesthetically pleasing amount of light to flood into the space.

The internal offices required privacy bands that would add maximum decorative impact without limiting visibility. A geometric design was digitally printed in white ink onto optically clear film. The design included built in safety decals to meet safety requirements and clear pin lines to improve visibility.
