On the back of a great year for Tint Design - servicing the construction and commercial fit out industry - we commence 2019 with one of our biggest and most exciting developments in our history!

We are proud to introduce to you a new sector of our business - ‘TD at Home’.

With a focus on residential and small-business clients, ‘TD at Home’ will offer all the knowledge and experience of a 30-year-strong commercial company at a scale and pace that is more suited to a domestic market. Tint Design has always championed exceptional customer service as one of our core business values, so we now carry that through as the foundation on which ‘TD at Home’ is built.

We are excited at the possibilities that this new division will bring, and look forward to servicing an even wider range of clients through projects that will be a lot more personalised.

There’s nothing like starting the year off with a whole new look and Tint Design has done just that. Our factory has been freshly painted and presents clean, proud and ready to go! This face lift has given our team motivation to start the year with our best foot forward and we are ready and looking forward to what we can, and will achieve in 2019!

Privacy meets elegance by Cassie Blomquist

Squid® is a unique product, the likes of which have not really been seen before in the world of flat glass tinting. Some may argue that is has similar properties to various other options on the market however as a woven fabric the softness and elegance of the finish is second to none.

Designed specifically to provide a level of privacy that acts to screen instead of block is one of the aspects of the film that we love the most. In the same way that one-way vision film works, Squid® can also act as an almost complete block-out film when the light source is greater on the opposite side of the glass to the view you wish to mask. For example, in the image above you can clearly see the occupants of the cafe behind the soft layer of Squid® on the glass, that is because it is evening and the light inside the building is greater that the light outside.

For both commercial and residential applications we can see endless possibilities for his product!

Living Coral - pantone colour of 2019 by Cassie Blomquist

Back off blues and step aside metallic flare, there’s a new colour in town and it’s loud and proud! Living Coral was recently announced the 2019 Pantone Colour of the Year, described by Pantone as “…Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression.”

We love the sentiments and hope that “playful expression” inundates the interior design world so that our newer printers really get a chance to show you what they’re capable of.

The design above is a new one that we’ve popped into our Catalogue to celebrate the announcement and we’d love to know what you think!

Designers who Tint with Tint Design by Cassie Blomquist

At Tint Design we occasionally assist on projects that are a little outside of our usual scope of works but we’re pleased to say that the final result of this particular project was worth the extra effort.

Elliat Rich’s Other Places – Mirrors were exhibited in early 2018 at the Sophie Gannon Gallery in Melbourne as a part of the Design Work 02: Elliat Rich, Dale Hardiman and Chen Lu exhibition, presented as a part of the NGV’s Melbourne Design Week. The works were also recently featured in the November/December issue of Vogue Living Magazine’s VLove shopping guide.

From the Artist: “Other Places moves intuitively between experience, visions and materials. It is what I’ve seen, and what I’ve imagined, furniture that evokes and/or embodies the landscapes of Australia. As a collection it off-sets a conceptual underpinning with a sense of curiosity and joy. It encapsulates accumulated observations, imagined myths, reminders of present wonders and desired futures, these are other places.”

Congratulations Elliat the final result was stunning!

5 Layers of Excellence by Cassie Blomquist

A few months back you might have seen that we added not one but two new Mimaki 5 layer UV printers to our machinery inventory and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of the prints we’re getting out of them.

Five layer printing allows us the ability to print two contrasting colour schemes visible on opposing sides of the same print.

This means that for something like a Safety Decal, for example, you would be able to print one colour scheme to be visible from one side of the glass that complies with the 30% contrast to its back ground and a varied colour on the other side to achieve the same code compliance when visible from the other side of the glass.

Another good example would be an entry logo on a glass door - design your logo artwork to be viewed positively when your visitors enter the room as well as when they exit!

Creativity is the key to this new technology and we can’t wait to see how our clients embrace the challenge!

Striking graphics and entrance signage for Surge Direct by Cassie Blomquist

Tint Design’s advanced range of Digital Printing and Signage making services were combined to make this striking reception sign at Surge Direct’s head office.

The impact of this full colour graphic with the use of a fade-out effect onto optically clear film creates a bold statement to clients and employees of Surge Direct. With that being said, full cover graphics can be a striking feature when its printed to either optically clear film, wallpaper or high gloss vinyl and applied to glass or plastered walls.

Along with digital printing, signage can also leave a striking impression on clients and employees. Many of our clients are unaware that Tint Design can produce a range of digital printing, Precision Cut and 3D lettering signage.

While our in-house signage making capabilities are impressive at Tint Design, we also have an extensive network of specialist fabricators that we often work with to produce the best quality signage manufactured to your exact specifications.

Inspirational custom graphics by Cassie Blomquist

One of our recent blogs featuring Cheltenham Primary School’s new library fitout showed the Library entrance re-dressed with Digital Print graphics on glass and Precision Cut text on the walls. Here is another part of the fitout that leads to classrooms and a reading area - a space that the client wanted to include images of inspiring nature scenes that would encourage creative thinking.

The vibrant colours and crisp detail in these digital print graphics really add a pop of colour to an otherwise dull space and the choice of natural landscapes brings a little of the outside in!

Custom printed graphics are a cost effective way to add a feature panel in any room with the added convenience of being able to remove and replace the artwork as your tastes or design choices change.
