Designers who Tint with Tint Design by Cassie Blomquist

At Tint Design we occasionally assist on projects that are a little outside of our usual scope of works but we’re pleased to say that the final result of this particular project was worth the extra effort.

Elliat Rich’s Other Places – Mirrors were exhibited in early 2018 at the Sophie Gannon Gallery in Melbourne as a part of the Design Work 02: Elliat Rich, Dale Hardiman and Chen Lu exhibition, presented as a part of the NGV’s Melbourne Design Week. The works were also recently featured in the November/December issue of Vogue Living Magazine’s VLove shopping guide.

From the Artist: “Other Places moves intuitively between experience, visions and materials. It is what I’ve seen, and what I’ve imagined, furniture that evokes and/or embodies the landscapes of Australia. As a collection it off-sets a conceptual underpinning with a sense of curiosity and joy. It encapsulates accumulated observations, imagined myths, reminders of present wonders and desired futures, these are other places.”

Congratulations Elliat the final result was stunning!

5 Layers of Excellence by Cassie Blomquist

A few months back you might have seen that we added not one but two new Mimaki 5 layer UV printers to our machinery inventory and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of the prints we’re getting out of them.

Five layer printing allows us the ability to print two contrasting colour schemes visible on opposing sides of the same print.

This means that for something like a Safety Decal, for example, you would be able to print one colour scheme to be visible from one side of the glass that complies with the 30% contrast to its back ground and a varied colour on the other side to achieve the same code compliance when visible from the other side of the glass.

Another good example would be an entry logo on a glass door - design your logo artwork to be viewed positively when your visitors enter the room as well as when they exit!

Creativity is the key to this new technology and we can’t wait to see how our clients embrace the challenge!

Striking graphics and entrance signage for Surge Direct by Cassie Blomquist

Tint Design’s advanced range of Digital Printing and Signage making services were combined to make this striking reception sign at Surge Direct’s head office.

The impact of this full colour graphic with the use of a fade-out effect onto optically clear film creates a bold statement to clients and employees of Surge Direct. With that being said, full cover graphics can be a striking feature when its printed to either optically clear film, wallpaper or high gloss vinyl and applied to glass or plastered walls.

Along with digital printing, signage can also leave a striking impression on clients and employees. Many of our clients are unaware that Tint Design can produce a range of digital printing, Precision Cut and 3D lettering signage.

While our in-house signage making capabilities are impressive at Tint Design, we also have an extensive network of specialist fabricators that we often work with to produce the best quality signage manufactured to your exact specifications.

Inspirational custom graphics by Cassie Blomquist

One of our recent blogs featuring Cheltenham Primary School’s new library fitout showed the Library entrance re-dressed with Digital Print graphics on glass and Precision Cut text on the walls. Here is another part of the fitout that leads to classrooms and a reading area - a space that the client wanted to include images of inspiring nature scenes that would encourage creative thinking.

The vibrant colours and crisp detail in these digital print graphics really add a pop of colour to an otherwise dull space and the choice of natural landscapes brings a little of the outside in!

Custom printed graphics are a cost effective way to add a feature panel in any room with the added convenience of being able to remove and replace the artwork as your tastes or design choices change.

Getting Creative with Acoustic Panels by Cassie Blomquist

More fun in the office!

As you can see above, acoustic paneling has endless possibilities. You can combine the product’s range of colours and thickness, and custom cut them to any shape desired. We wanted to have some fun and experiment in this space which has been a major success!

Acoustic panels are an extremely popular wall finishing solution and a vital part of many fitouts. At Tint Design we can turn a dull room into a statement one, by using our Vision Effex and Precision Cutting services. The design possibilities are limitless for creating stand out features from a practical substrate.

We love how this office turned out and we hope we have inspired you to bring out your creative side.

a ‘wheely’ great effect! by Cassie Blomquist

The Coach Ringwood created this eye-catching design for the glass dividers that separate the smoker’s and outdoor sitting areas.

By using Tint Design’s Precision Cutting service a number of ‘coach wheels’ scaled at different sizes, were cut out of frost film resulting in an eye-catching look to the outdoor area with maximum decorative impact.

The simplicity of precision cutting out of film can have a striking effect and Tint Design offer a large range of films that can be for used for any precision cut projects. Precision cut designs can be installed on a variety of surfaces such as plaster walls and glass. Combined with our Vision Effex digital printing service you can have a great feature for any decorative solution.

It’s time for spring racing! by Cassie Blomquist

Spring Racing_Image-01.jpg

We pulled these photos out of the archives, which was a job we did for the Spring Racing Carnival in 2017.

The private marquee in the Bird Cage featured acrylic panels to which we installed dichroic window film. As you can see from the pictures above, the film creates a harlequin effect which was a unique and colourful rainbow like choice for the 2017 Flemington fitout. An event like this is a great opportunity to be creative using bold and unique products and designs.

Be it fashion or interior fitouts, it’s always exciting to watch the Carnival to see what’s on trend!

Introducing Squid - a brand new product! by Cassie Blomquist

Squid-01-02.jpg

Is it a film? Is it fabric? It’s one that acts like the other!

Squid is a self-adhesive translucent textile for window treatment. Basically, it’s fabric that you can stick to glass, and it’s amazing!

This new product to hit Australian shores is from Belgium and bridges the gap between window film and blinds to solve privacy issues.

It comes in five neutral colours; Chalk, Bone, Oak, Ash and Rock which on their own are elegant and sophisticated. However, by teaming it up with our Tint Design services, we are also able to Digitally Print onto the Squid product to create custom and unique window treatments.

If you would like to see the Squid range or discuss it’s benefits further, please contact our team at Tint Design and we will be happy to come and meet with you.
